The land for the convent was bought and registered in 2008. On 27th Feb. 2010 sisters Sushila Kerketta and Francis Ann came here to start a convent, staying in a rented house near their land. On 28th Feb. on the birthday of our Foundress Mother Marie Therese they were welcomed by Parishioners. On 17th April they started the convent and Social centre. On 15th September the community was established with three sisters. Sr. Sushila Kerketta was the 1st Superior of this community. Their apostolates are: Social Service, Remedial classes for 105 Children, Needle work and cooking classes for 12 women and girls.

The first Ashram was started in Gurung Basti, Siliguri Pradhannagar. The place was very small, and the patients number was increasing. Bro Bob decided to look for a bigger place to house them all in Matigara. Sr. Xavier Clare accompanied Bro. Bob in his search. Sr. Ivana joined Bro. Bob to work in Jesu Ashram. |
