Rangjuli, being the only house in the north east sisters always felt the need to have one more house in this region. At the invitation of the Salesians of the North East, the sisters ventured out to the hilly region of Hatigopa in Guwahati diocese. The Salesians ran a primary school in Hatigopa upto class V which they handed over to the Daughters of the Cross. The primary school has been upgraded to class X. The strength of the school has increased to over 500. 3 batches have already passed their class X examination.
The desire to expand in the land of the land of the Seven Sisters, led us to the district of Karbi Anglong and say “Yes” to the call of Diphu Mission, in the diocese of Diphu, to work in collaboration with the Salesians of Don Bosco. This mission was envisaged as the first step towards the establishment of a full – fledged Don Bosco College at Diphu thereby bringing the youth of Karbi Anglong quality education and care. On the 14th September 2018 Helena Convent was raised to the status of a Community and Sr. Anjali Francis was nominated the first Superior of the Community. Sisters run the Helena Hostel to render a safe and secure place for the girls coming from far and near who study in the college. It is a place for them where they can fully develop their intellectual capacities and qualities. |
